Every year we pray and ask God if there is a word/theme for the year ahead that might give direction to message series, weekly practices, city group conversations, etc. For 2025 our word is WORD. Matthew 4:4 says “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” There are so many things vying for our attention, so we will take this year to direct our focus toward loving, understanding, and being nourished by the Scripture. Yes, this is about developing higher biblical literacy, but knowledge alone isn’t transformational and can puff us up…so, this is less about knowing the Word of God and more about loving the God of the Word. WORD is an invitation to enter the story of God, letting it shape our imaginations and lives while encountering Jesus on every page. We follow Jesus together, so whether you have read the Bible a lot or are new to the Bible, we hope you will jump in and engage the Scripture with others.
