Attending a new church can be an intimidating experience. Here’s some of what you can expect when you arrive at Mill City Church.

LOCATION: Every Sunday we rent space at the University Center for the Arts (UCA / the old Fort Collins High school) to gather for worship at 8:30AM, 10:00AM, and 11:30AM. We have tried to make orienting to the building as easy as possible, but if you need anything lots of people will be available to answer your questions and help you find your way. Just look for someone with a name tag.

PARKING: Parking is available on all four sides of the UCA. You can park on the street or in the lots on the east side of the building. Additional parking is available in the lot on the west side of College Avenue (walk through the tunnel and flower garden to access the UCA). Bike racks are located on the west side of the building. After you’ve parked, follow the Mill City Church signs to an entrance.

CHILDREN: Our kids are worth investing in and that’s why we’ve created a safe, clean and fun environment led by trained volunteers. Mill City Kids signs will direct you through the hallway where you will find our children’s check-in stations at the south end of the building. Our helpful team will assist you as you relay some brief information about your kids and answer any questions you may have. Kids and parents will be directed to one of five classes where another volunteer will receive your child.

Here’s how we group our kids classrooms:

  • Crawlers (newborn thru crawling)
  • Walkers
  • Twos & Threes
  • Preschool & Kindergarten
  • 1st-5th Grade
  • 6th graders and up are invited to worship with their families in the main gathering and encouraged to participate in Mill City Students, our youth group, during the week.

WORSHIP: Corporate worship is important to us because it reminds us that we are not alone and orients us toward the One who is worthy of all of our lives. We sing both modern worship songs and hymns and are attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We also value rootedness, so we regularly incorporate historical liturgical elements such as Communion, the Apostles Creed and corporate prayers.

TEACHING: We think church should be a place where the Bible is unpacked in a life-giving and simple way. You’ll hear down to earth, honest, and challenging teaching through books of the Bible as well as topical studies to dig deeper into a particular subject.

CONNECTION CARDS: If you’re a first-timer, we invite you to fill out the Connection Card and drop it in the offering bucket at the end of the gathering. We simply want to send you an email or letter thanking you for coming and provide an avenue for further connection with Mill City.

ATTIRE: We’re pretty relaxed around here. We want people to come as they are and find a place where they can be themselves and encounter God. For some, that will mean putting on their Sunday best. For others, that will be shorts and flip-flops. Whatever you wear, you’ll find people laughing, talking, and genuinely sharing life together.

CULTURE: Mill City Church is a life-giving, Jesus-centered church. We encourage everyone to come as they are because Jesus meets us where we are, not where we think we should be. We embrace the need for community, vulnerability, and the work of the Spirit.

We look forward to meeting you. If you need answers to any other questions, please contact us at info@millcitychurch.org

Hope to see you Sunday!
