//our story

We are a Jesus church. Our aim is to lift up His name, spread His fame, and follow Him wholeheartedly.

Starting in 2001 my wife Jossie and I had the privilege of leading theMILL, a community of college students and 20-somethings in Colorado Springs, with the purpose of bending our lives around God and spreading His fame to the world around us.

We saw God do some profound things over the course of a decade:  the beginning group of 30 people grew to over 1000 in weekly attendance, over 1000 students participated in overseas mission trips, and more than we can count surrendered their lives to Jesus, renewed their faith in Him and became devoted disciples of Christ.

To our surprise, in 2010 we sensed that a change was coming.  After diligent prayer and leaning into wise council we knew we were to plant a local church Fort Collins, Colorado for people of all ages.

A wonderful chapter of our lives closed in September 2011 and we moved with our four boys to Northern Colorado. We didn’t know anyone, but we dreamt of a church with one simple goal: to reach people with the life-giving message of the Gospel, so they might become wholehearted followers of Jesus.

A team started to form as families, couples, and singles from Fort Collins, surrounding communities and even other states began moving to participate in what God was doing. Mill City Church started meeting on Sunday mornings on February 26th 2012, at the University Center for the Arts (the old Fort Collins high school).

In a short amount of time we have seen a small group of people grow into a rather large family with a desire to be a community of faith that reflects the extravagant love of the Father, the radical saving grace of Jesus, and the transformational work of the Spirit.

We like to call ourselves a Jesus church, because our desire it to focus on what unites us, not what divides us. We look forward to how Mill City continues to unfold in the days and years ahead, and hope this journey includes you.

For His fame,

Aaron Stern
Lead Pastor
